Why this matters

A funeral arrives with no warning, and a bill

A simple funeral in Australia now costs many thousands of dollars, and the price of a plot and burial rises every year.

When someone passes, the family is expected to find that money within days, often while they are still in shock. Too many families are left borrowing, asking the community, or making painful compromises on the farewell their loved one deserved.

It does not have to be that way. A small, predictable contribution now means your family never faces that bill alone.

What you get

Peace of mind, built for our community

Paid fast, when it counts

The benefit is normally paid within 48 hours of receiving documents, in time for an Islamic burial, not weeks later.

A fixed amount you can count on

You choose your benefit and you know exactly what will be paid. No market risk, no investment guesswork, no surprises for your family.

The community looking after its own

Not-for-profit, built on the Islamic principle of mutual assistance. Your contributions support members, not shareholders.

Built to stay fair over time

The Board reviews the benefit so it stays meaningful as funeral costs rise. Increases are decided by the Board, not an automatic index.

The mechanics, in plain language

Simple by design. Here is exactly how it works.

It is a fixed cash benefit, paid directly to the person you nominate, to help meet the cost of your funeral.

You contribute an annual premium. In return, an agreed amount (your benefit) is paid out on your death, to the beneficiary you nominate — for example a family member, or directly to a funeral service provider.

It is not traditional life insurance, and it has no investment component. Gallipoli Funeral Fund does not arrange or provide funeral services. Our role is to pay the cash benefit, quickly and reliably, so your family can focus on what matters.

If funeral costs are less than your benefit

The remaining balance is paid to a secondary beneficiary or to your estate. Nothing is lost.

If costs are more than your benefit

Your family or estate covers the difference. This is the gap risk, and it is why choosing the right tier for your area matters.

Two ways to join

Single or Double Facility

Single Facility

One fixed cash benefit, paid to your nominated beneficiary upon your death. The simplest option for an individual member.

Double Facility

Two benefits for two people (commonly a couple) under one membership. A benefit is paid on the first death, then a second benefit on the second death. The annual premium halves after the first death.

Getting started

The application journey

Choose your facility and tier

Use our calculator to settle on a Single or Double Facility and the tier that fits your region.

Complete the application

Provide your details and nominate your beneficiary. Truthfully declare your health, including whether you have a terminal illness.

Pay your entry fee and first premium

Your entry fee (if any) is based on your age at entry. You can pay it in instalments, and pay premiums monthly or annually.

Your cover begins

Once your membership is active, you and your nominated beneficiary are registered. You can manage your details in the member portal at any time.

Who can join

Australian citizens and permanent residents who want a predictable contribution toward funeral costs and are aligned with Islamic funeral principles, and who are able to meet the entry fee and ongoing premiums.

Honest declarations matter

Applicants who do not truthfully declare that they are free of a terminal illness are treated as being in the highest entry-fee band, and a false declaration can disqualify a claim.

When the time comes

How a claim is paid

Losing a loved one is hard enough. We keep the claim process simple and fast.

Your nominated beneficiary contacts us

The person you nominated (or a family member) lets us know of the death and shares any funeral or burial preferences, and whether a plot is already held.

We confirm the details

We check the membership is in good standing and confirm any outstanding amounts owing.

The benefit is paid

The fixed benefit is paid to the nominated beneficiary, normally within 48 hours of receiving the required documentation.

Key things to understand

Gap risk Actual funeral costs vary and may exceed your chosen benefit. Your family is responsible for any shortfall.
No services We pay a cash benefit only. We do not arrange or provide funeral services.
Keeps pace Your benefit is reviewed and increased over time to keep pace with funeral costs. Increases are decided by the Board, not an automatic index, so a shortfall is still possible between reviews.
Premium changes Premiums may be varied based on actuarial assessment, with at least 30 days' notice.
Lapse risk Failure to pay premiums results in cancellation. Entry and gap fees are refunded, premiums forfeited.
