Clear answers about how membership works. If your question is not here, our team is happy to help in English or Turkish.
No. Gallipoli Funeral Fund provides a Funeral Expense Facility, which is a fixed cash benefit paid on death toward funeral costs. It has no investment component and is not traditional life insurance.
No. We pay a cash benefit only. We do not arrange or provide funeral services. The benefit is paid to the beneficiary you nominate — for example a family member, or directly to a funeral provider.
A Single Facility pays one fixed benefit on the member's death. A Double Facility covers two people (often a couple) under one membership: a benefit is paid on the first death and a second benefit on the second death, and the annual premium halves after the first death.
The benefit is a fixed amount. If actual funeral costs are higher than your chosen tier, your family or estate must cover the difference. If costs are lower, the balance goes to a secondary beneficiary or your estate. Choosing the right tier for your area helps manage this.
Australian citizens and permanent residents who want a predictable contribution toward funeral costs, are aligned with Islamic funeral principles, and are able to meet the entry fee and ongoing premiums.
There is no medical exam. You are asked to truthfully declare your circumstances, including whether you have a terminal illness. Applicants who do not declare that they are free of a terminal illness are treated as being in the highest entry-fee band, and a false declaration can disqualify a claim.
The entry fee is a one-off amount based on your age when you join and the tier you choose. Members under 50 join free. Entry fees can be paid in three equal annual instalments, or in quarterly or monthly instalments over three years.
Annual premiums start from $295 a year for Tier 1. Your exact premium and entry fee depend on your facility type, age at entry and tier. Use the calculator to see your figures.
Yes. Annual premiums can be paid in full or in 12 equal monthly instalments. We accept direct debit, bank transfer and card payments.
Premiums may be varied based on actuarial assessment, with a minimum of 30 days' notice and no more than once in any 12-month period (excluding routine CPI rounding).
Please contact us as early as possible. If premiums remain unpaid, the membership may be cancelled (entry and gap fees refunded, premiums forfeited). Members experiencing financial hardship can pause their membership with written notice.
The fixed benefit is normally paid to the nominated beneficiary within 48 hours of us receiving the required documentation, provided the membership is in good standing and any outstanding amounts are settled.
Your nominated beneficiary (or a family member) contacts us to advise of the death and share any funeral or burial preferences and whether a plot is already held. We confirm the membership status and any amounts owing, then pay the benefit to the nominated beneficiary.
Yes. Within the 30-day cooling-off period you receive a full refund of all amounts paid. After cooling off, entry and gap fees are refundable but annual premiums are forfeited.
A claim may be disqualified if the member is in arrears on the entry fee, annual premium or other amounts owing, or if a false declaration was made (for example, an undisclosed terminal illness). Full details are set out in the PDS.
You can update your contact details in the member portal. To change your nominated beneficiary or bank details, please contact our team so we can verify the change. Keeping these up to date helps us pay any future claim quickly.
